Sail Thailand – explore, adventure & relaxation
Sailing is about exploring places that can only be reached by this amazing invention, called boat! Just name a location, book one boat and enjoy fantastic experiences. Before we started this website, we made sure to visit some of the most beautiful islands so that following our stories you would be able to create your own. Thailand is on our list for today.
Koh Khai Nok
Starting from Phuket towards Koh Rang Noi you’ll meet lots of locals and a landscape not necessarily taken from “The beach”! Thailand is one of the countries that will lure you into exploring. Its definitely not the place where you “jump off” the plane and only thing that you’ll see is beauty all over. She is revealing to you little by little, moment by moment.
Koh Khai Nok comes first with the emerald water, white send, this rainbow like coloured fish combined with the local culture. Right that moment you’ll somehow have the guarantee this could be one the best holidays ever. When you reach the island do not hesitate to drop the anchor and enjoy a mojito at the Rocky Bar on the beach.
Tip: in case your taste is not so much into sweet drinks, don’t forget to ask the lady from the bar not to put sugar into your drink.
Choose a seat and you’ll be enchanted and sometimes amused by the scenery:
A free demonstration of how are those small powerful motorboats parked side by side in a way that sometimes is almost impossible to take them on the water again;
Fishing boats – surely an attraction;
Need a swim: just step a bit aside and you’ll enjoy the white sand and turquoise waters!
Dinner out
What will you do in the evening after being so spoiled a whole day long? You will sail out and find a nice place where you spend the entire night. Dinner on board or dinner out, this is the only question remained. Tip no. 1: in case your choice is dinner out make sure you are one of the Thai food fans. Cause I remember every time we had dinner on land some of us were eating the chilliest things you can ever imagine without any grimace on their faces. Not me! Between us, the girls, Ana was the one who tasted every dish I like people like her! In case you’re more like me, there are plenty of other dishes to eat, so no worries.
Tip no.2: the true taste of Thailand cuisine, you’ll find at those small local restaurants on the beach. Be aware, most of the times you’ll need to use the photos from the menus, or google translate like Ana did.
Koh Khai Noi – The German place
You should see the joy on Ana’s face when choosing the fruits and then being impatient until the very nice decorated glass of smoothies or juice is served, at Choko’s! There is this very tiny small island known by the locals as the “The German place”. Absolutely beautiful location, in the middle of Andaman Sea. A bar where you’ll meet some other sailors too.
We dropped the anchor and took a nice swim, enjoying a couple of minutes admiring the fish and a cold drink after. When you come to the terrace they first offer you these small white cold and so nice smelling towels that will refresh your face and senses.
